Famous Wellness Retreat The Ranch Opening In New York
The Ranch has long been the preeminent luxury wellness retreat that has attracted celebrities years, thanks to its results-oriented holistic fitness programs. But, it was only available in Malibu, California, or Italy. That is until now. The famous brand recently announced it’s expanding the portfolio to include the first east coast property—The Ranch Hudson Valley—just 45 minutes outside New York City.
Opening in Summer 2023, The Ranch Hudson Valley will offer three-day and four-day wellness programs like the original Malibu location. The options will vary in intensities, but all will immerse guests in nature while focusing on the key pillars of The Ranch program: hiking, workout classes, yoga, massage, and a plant-based diet. And that nature immersion takes place amidst 200 acres in a historic lakefront estate.
For a more gentle approach, The Ranch 3.0—a 3-day program available Monday through Thursday—can enjoy a later wake-up time and schedule of four hours worth of low-impact exercises and a shortened two-hour hike each morning. For something more intense, The Ranch 4.0 program takes place Thursday through Monday and features the original no-options active daily schedule of six hours of exercises and a four-hour morning hike.
No matter the program you choose, the afternoon includes naptime, strength training, restorative yoga, and a daily massage. Plus, all of your nutrient-dense, plant-based meals are included featuring ingredients from the onsite organic garden or provided by local organic farms.
“As demand continues to increase for wellness travel, The Ranch Hudson Valley allows for the opportunity to diversify our programming,” Alex Glasscock, Founder and CEO of The Ranch said in a statement. “By introducing a less intense version of The Ranch experience through The Ranch 3.0, we hope to attract those that may have previously felt apprehensive about doing the program.”
He added, “Alternatively, with The Ranch 4.0, guests can challenge themselves over a long weekend with our signature daily schedule. Regardless of the program they choose, guests can jumpstart a path towards better health and achieve profound physical and mental improvements in their overall wellness.”
While the programming is rejuvenating, so too is the setting. You not only have 200 acres to roam, but the resort is surrounded by the 4,000-acre Ringwood State Park, ideal for long hikes. Plus, the massive historic estate onsite—known as the Table Rock Estate, built in 1902 by JP Morgan—will retain many original details with modern interior updates completed by renowned New York designer Steven Gambrel.
The property will feature 25 guest rooms, a dining room overlooking the lake, a spa, and a former ballroom-turned gym. There will also be a massive Solarium with exercise and pool facilities available all year, plus an outdoor pool for the warmer months.
“We are thrilled to be expanding to the East Coast,” said Glasscock. “The Ranch Hudson Valley is ideally situated less than an hour from New York City, Connecticut, and New Jersey. We wanted to respect and satisfy the ongoing demand from our East Coast guests to open a property closer to them.”
