Resorts To Offer Spectacular Independence Day Celebrations
This year’s Fourth of July is set to be the top holiday weekend to travel with nearly half (46%) of summer travelers planning to vacation over Independence Day, according to Vacasa’s 2022 Summer Travel Trends report. Vacasa’s search data also revealed the following destinations as the most popular spots for 2022: Bethany Beach, DE; Alabama Gulf Coast, AL; Outer Banks, NC; Cape Cod, MA; Oregon Coast, OR.
In order to impress their guests, hotels and resorts throughout the country are planning spectacular fireworks displays ranging from a “Free as a Bird” experience to a “Big Bay Boom.”
Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York
With its picturesque setting in the Hudson Valley and situated on a private glacial lake with views of the Catskill Mountains, this Victorian castle resort provides a one-of-a-kind mountain retreat for a Fourth of July celebration. With activities like tomahawk throwing, family archery, a guided rock scramble, performances by a magician and more, families will have no shortage of excitement. All guests are welcome to march in the resort’s parade with The Hudson Seven Riverboat Marching Band, joined also by employees in costume and the Mohonk Fire truck. Following the parade, a Fourth of July Carnival with wine and spirits tastings for adults and cotton candy, popcorn and bounce castles for kids will precede the Water Show and Trumpet Across the Lake. A boat dock concert leads into the fireworks display as dusk settles, while a peaceful reflection of brilliant color glows from rocky ledges to cliff-bound lake as the fireworks display begins.
Noelle, Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville is known for hosting one of the biggest fireworks display in the country and Noelle is offering front row seats at Rare Bird with its annual Free as a Bird experience. Tickets are priced at $400 per person and include admission to Rare Bird with guaranteed rooftop seating, a top-shelf open bar, premium food and appetizer stations, unobstructed fireworks viewing and live music. For those looking to stay the night, the hotel is also offering a Free as a Bird room package which includes overnight accommodations on the Fourth of July and two tickets to the Free as a Bird rooftop celebration and complimentary late check-out.

Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia
Lansdowne Resort has been home to one of Loudoun County’s best Independence Day celebrations for decades and is exclusive to resort guests. On Sunday, July 3 Turtle Bay Resort will host Ohana Day with Eli-Mac, Kimié Miner, Paula Fuga, Yoza and DJ Keala Kennelly along with food, libations and a beautiful fireworks show at night. Doors will open at 3 p.m. with the concert beginning at 4 p.m. and fireworks at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $30 at the door.
