The Highly Anticipated Aman New York Will Be Opening On August 2nd

Aman New York is one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings in years, and finally, there’s an official opening date. The new property located on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue will open on August 2nd, with hotel reservations opening on July 25th.

The 83-suite property is housed within the 100-year-old Crown Building, reimagined by star architect, Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, with a hotel portfolio that includes Four Seasons, Cheval Blanc, St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental, as well as multiple Aman properties, like Aman Venice and Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro.

At Aman New York, the rooms are said to be some of New York’s largest. Neutral, calming interiors take inspiration from Japanese minimalism, and each suite has bespoke murals by contemporary Japanese artist Ryoko Adachi, which pay tribute to The Pine Trees screens, a pair of six-panel folding screens by Hasegawa Tōhaku, one of the most important Japanese artists of the pre-Edo period and founder of the Hasegawa school of art. Every suite also has a working fireplace, which is a major draw. (No other hotel in New York City can make the same claim.)

Guests also get to enjoy a massive new spa, spanning three stories and nearly 25,000 square feet. The flagship wellness destination has an indoor pool, flanked with fire pits and daybeds, and 700 square feet of outdoor space. Also, Aman New York has 22 private residences, with access to one of Manhattan’s most incredible rooftop pools.

This will be the third Aman property coming to the USA (joining Utah’s highly praised Amangiri and Wyoming’s Amangani) and one of the brand’s few city destinations. There are currently 32 Aman resorts, hotels and private residences worldwide; however, the brand has plans to expand to 40 properties across 22 countries, with new additions coming to Mexico, Thailand, and Japan.

The opening date of Aman New York was announced via press release.
