You Can Now Stay The Night On Canada’s Infamous Theodore The Tugboat
Airbnb has this week announced that—for the first time ever—guests will be able to spend a night onboard Theodore TOO; the smiling red-capped 65-foot Canadian tugboat. The Halifax tugboat recently relocated to the Hamilton Harbour in Hamilton, Ontario, where it has become part of the 30,000 craziest listings around the world in Airbnb’s newest OMG! Category.
Theodore TOO was initially built in Daysprings, Nova Scotia over twenty years ago in 2000 but now works as an ambassador to the marine industry and a guide to the great lakes — and guests lucky enough to book the Airbnb listing will be in for an unforgettable aquatic adventure. The life-sized tugboat will take guests on a cruise of Hamilton Harbour where they will have a chance to learn all about the Bay and indulge in local Hamilton specialities from small businesses throughout the city.

The evening will be spent lounging on the deck at sunset and enjoying a movie night under the stars (with saltwater taffy and local snacks—of course!). The sleeping arrangements are cozy and compact; designed with Canadiana in mind as a nod to Theodore’s Haligonian roots.
“Our crew is lucky to spend the summer cruising the Great Lakes aboard the friendliest tugboat in Canada, which is why I’m so excited Theodore TOO fans have the chance to take part in his adventures!,” Host Captain Noah shared in a press release. “As your Airbnb Host, I can’t wait to show you around Theodore TOO from bow to stern and port to starboard, and take you on your own Big Harbor adventure for a night.”
Guests will have the chance to book two individual one-night stays on September 10, 2022, and September 11, 2022, for just $22 CAD a night (a nod to Theodore TOO’s 22nd birthday!). Reservations will be open beginning Monday, August 29, 2022, at 12 p.m. ET at airbnb.com/theodoretoo.
